Accounts Assistant Manager
A rapidly growing MNC in Kulim is looking for Accounts Assistant Manager to be part of their team. You will be a key part of helping the business to manage daily operations of the department and advice management on finance and accounting related decisions.

 

Main responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant Manager role  

 

  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, encompassing monthly and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury and budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, and debt activity
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports or statements
  • Review financial documents for submission to Management and HQ in Japan
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly reports
  • Review monthly salary payments and other payables
  • Review and finalize cash flow planning, making financing proposals as needed
  • Monitor and ensure the continuation of the accounting outsourcing project (from Regional HQ Singapore) and support South-East Asia regional Accounting and Finance activities and projects
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits and yearly tax computations
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
  • Improve systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions
  • Provide recommendations to Management on asset handling, business budgeting, and the organization's financial position
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with Internal Control, Corporate Accounting Regulations, and ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements, as applicable
  • Coordinate Board of Directors and Annual General Meetings, including relevant documentation compilation
  • Coordinate with the Company Secretary in line with Company Act requirements

 

 

Key requirements
 

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience as an Accounting or Finance Manager
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and databases
  • In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in Japanese is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication
  • Highly responsible, passionate about learning, and able to work independently
