Language Specialist (Mandarin Speaking)
A rapidly expanding MNC in Bayan Lepas is seeking a Language Specialist (Mandarin Speaking) to join their team. In this role, you will carry out all necessary tasks to provide the team with optimal conditions for producing high-quality deliverables through human translation, transcreation, machine translation, and AI-generated translation, both internally and with external partners.

Main responsibilities of the Language Specialist (Mandarin Speaking) role

• Utilizing diverse technologies (tools, MT engines, AI) to achieve high-quality, scalable output. 
• Assessing content provided by external vendors. 
• Performing translation and transcreation tasks. 
• Serving as the primary contact for all stakeholders regarding linguistic issues.
• Translation Aid technology enablement: evaluate, maintain, and debug machine translation and AI-generated tools and content.
• Vendor enablement: assess content from suppliers; provide feedback for continuous improvement and risk mitigation; support during RFPs and onboarding of new suppliers.
• Create and maintain linguistic assets: terminology databases, translation memories, and style guides.
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for your language and regional culture.
• Perform translation and transcreation tasks.

Key requirements 

• BA in translation, localization, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Native-level fluency in Simplified Chinese and excellent English communication skills.
• Proficient understanding of localization technologies (CAT tools, machine translation, evaluation tools, etc.) and a willingness to adopt new technologies and processes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment and with cross-departmental teams.
• Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
• Capable of working independently and performing daily tasks with minimal supervision.
