A key player in precision manufacturing specializes in high-tech components for industries such as semiconductor, electronics, and renewable energy is looking for a Manufacturing Manager. The Manufacturing Manager is tasked with overseeing the daily operations of metal fabrication processes, ensuring production goals are achieved efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This role includes managing teams, maintaining high-quality standards, optimizing production processes, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth workflows and continuous improvements.
 
Main Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Manager role:
  • Operations Management:
    • Plan, organize, and oversee the overall production processes for the metal fabrication division.
    • Ensure effective use of materials, equipment, and labor to meet production targets and budgetary goals.
    • Monitor production schedules to meet delivery deadlines and manage any deviations.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise a team of production supervisors, engineers, and workers.
    • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
    • Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, open communication, and ongoing improvement.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify inefficiencies in the fabrication process and implement improvements to optimize production time, quality, and costs.
    • Utilize lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement new production techniques, tooling, and machinery.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all fabricated metal products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the production process.
    • Address and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and training to ensure a safe work environment.
    • Lead investigations into workplace accidents or near-misses and implement corrective actions.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control:
    • Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
    • Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures as needed.
    • Prepare and present production reports to senior management.
  • Vendor & Material Management:
    • Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and supplies.
    • Manage relationships with key suppliers and contractors to optimize sourcing and cost management.
    • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Main Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • Over 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in metal fabrication.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing production teams and achieving operational goals.
  • Strong knowledge of metalworking processes, machinery, and tooling.
  • In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard safety regulations and quality control standards.
