Our client is a local conglomerate consisting of diverse and varied businesses and industries, including Construction, Infrastructure, and Property Development. They are now looking for an individual with a BQSM qualification to fill the position of QS Contract Manager for their business.
Responsibilities:-
- Oversee the entire spectrum of contract management from initiation to completion.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and manage variations or disputes.
- Draft, review, and handle contractual documents and issues.
- Manage the tendering process, including issuing tenders, reviewing reports, attending interviews, negotiating, finalizing, and preparing recommendation reports for contract awards.
- Develop and control project budgets.
- Track and manage costs accurately.
- Provide cost advice and financial reporting.Prepare tender documents and evaluate bids.
- Assist in selecting contractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate and manage subcontracts.Conduct interim and final valuations for payments.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments. - Assist in developing project schedules.
- Monitor progress to ensure timely project delivery.
- Identify and assess potential risks.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial and contractual risks.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Communicate project financial status and address concerns.
Qualifications:-
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying and contract management within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, MS Project).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Well-developed communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- BQSM certification is required
- Proficiency in Malay and English (professional level required), Mandarin (optional).
