Our client is a Japanese manufacturer and distributor of electric motors. They produce motors ranging from ultra-small to ultra-large, as well as mechatronics, optics, and other electric products. They are currently looking for a candidate with experience as a Senior Purchasing Executive in the automotive industry to handle their sourcing and supplier contract management.
Job Description:
- To process purchase orders by liaising effectively with suppliers.
- To review stock purchases based on current stock levels, production lead times, customer forecasts, and supplier conditions.
- To manage local and overseas procurement of materials.
- To communicate with suppliers regarding material delivery schedules and cost reduction initiatives.
- To ensure all materials arrive at the company according to production schedules.
- To liaise and plan with suppliers/vendors regarding delivery and quality requirements.
- To actively participate in negotiations with suppliers/vendors.
- To control inventory of materials up to the point of consumption.
- To assist superiors in overall inventory control, organization, and maintenance of the store.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationship
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and purchasing software
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with sourcing and procurement of raw material, packaging materials and electronics components
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong customer service orientation
- Priority for candidate experienced in automotive industry especially in APQP team and project-based timelines
